3 hours at Lancing on an emotional roller coaster. It was pure cross shore at first with the tide dropping down onto the sand. Waves were not as big as they would have been earlier this morning. Still, plumes of spray whipping back off the top and probably 4 foot high faces. Rigged up 4.5m but wind had eased by the time I launched (0940 ish). Wallowed out, gybed on the face of one and proceeded to surf it down the line, chest high to the shallows. yeeehaah. Wallowed back out again and wallowed back in, managed to catch a second wave and cruise down the line. Wind gone so walked back upwind and headed up the beach. Stopped to watch the kites about to launch and whammo the wind kicked in properly. Back down and maxed out insanity on 4.5m. Jumps were a liability and you had to have good rodeo skills to get the bugger back down safely. Wave riding was possible again, but not classic. After 20 minutes it dropped off fully so I carried the kit all the way back to the car. Went to watch the kiters about to launch (again) and WHAMMO (again) so grabbed the kit and dashed back out for more. This time it was really windy and stayed windy. Too much for the 4.5m but stuck with it as time was short. Ended up breaking a boom arm (probably because of the backwards pressure on the sail) so called it a day
